課程概述

General Biology is one of the required courses for bio-major students. The lectures are organized as six parts: 1. molecules and processes within cells, 2. how genetic materials transmitted from generation to generation, 3. how organisms evolved, 4 plant forms and functions, 5. animal forms and function, and 6. ecology. Instead of knowing the facts, we will emphasize on forming hypotheses and testing them experimentally. This course is a one-year course, please make sure you allocate Tuesday morning for biology for the entire year.

課程目標
We will emphasize on forming hypothesis and problem solving skills in learning biology phenomenon. The aims of this course is not only to explain how the knowledges were discovered or synthesized but also how one might create new knowledges in the future.
課程要求
Regular attendance is expected. In case of absence, you are responsible for contacting a class member for missed notes, syllabus changes, announcements or other materials. In other words, you are still responsible for what happens in lecture even if you are not present.
